Dear Players, Parents and Carers, Welcome to Raiders basketball club, both those returning and our new members. There are a few notices I need to let you know of, listed below. Firstly, registrations have now closed. If further players wish to join, you will need to contact our registrar, Glenn Macri. 1. Grading Grading will be ONLY done for those U14 and U16 players (Years 7-11) who have elected to participate in grading, which Raiders advocates. Those who have submitted a complete pre-nominated team need not attend, those with incomplete teams (ie not sufficient players) must attend. Grading will be at Lords Recreation Centre, with times allocated below. Please ensure you bring mouthguard, water bottle, basketball if you have one (named). Please wear a singlet, no t-shirts if possible. Please arrive 15 mins before your scheduled start time for check-in. Timing will be as below: Sunday 14th February (this Sunday) 11.30am-1.30pm: Under 14 Boys, Year 7 2pm-4pm: Under 14 Boys, Year 8 Sunday 21st February 11.30am-1.30pm: Under 16 Boys, Year 10 2pm-4pm: Under 16 Boys, Year 9 2pm-4pm: Under 14 and Under 16 Girls If you cannot make your allocated time, please contact Paul Trettel, to advise when you could come. It is possible to come to alternate times. 2. Pre-nominated teams If your team has already submitted a pre-formed team, thank you. If not, please do it as soon as possible. We did nominate 12 Feb, but for all U14 and U16 teams, we would appreciate it if you could send as soon as possible, as this may impact on our grading schedules. 3. Uniform Raiders uniform consists of:
Playing singlet - supplied by the club, picked up on the date below. Never to be worn other than for formal games.
Raiders shorts - available to purchase on the uniform collection date below. If we don't have the correct size, then they can be ordered in.
Socks - We do have Raiders socks available to purchase, but it is not essential. If not Raiders socks, then white socks please.
4. Important dates
Wednesday 3rd March, Team announcements, if not earlier. Monday 8th March, 7.30pm, Coaches and Managers meeting, Newman Sports Hall (off Tuscany Way, Churchlands)
Saturday 13rd March, 8.30-10.30am, Singlet collection day. This will also be the opportunity to pick up or order hoodies, socks, shorts etc. We are expecting a delivery with everything ready for the day...
Monday 15th March, training starts this week. Timing and location of training will be determined after the Coaches and Manager's meeting, if not before.
Friday/Sat 19/20 March, Games commence.
5. Court access We have had an overwhelming response to registration this year. It is fantastic to see such a great number of kids wanting to play. To try and give them the best experience, we are keen to get access to more training courts. If you have any contacts, or are aware of where we could direct our efforts to source more courts, please let me know. 6. Sponsorship If you are interested in sponsoring Raiders this year, and have not yet done so, please reach out to Matt Green, for further information. This is likely to need to be finalised by the end of the week. 7. Coaches We are always looking for coaches, both experienced adults, and junior coaches for teams. If you, a family member, friend or child is interested, please let Paul Trettel, know as soon as possible. Go Raiders!
