To get our younger players ready for the PLH Junior Competition there are two U8 development programs available.

For players in Year 2:

HAWKS U8 MINIBALL SKILL SESSIONS 

Perry Lakes Hawks run an U8 miniball skills program at Bendat Basketball Centre. There are two sessions, held on Tuesdays between 4.15pm and 6.15pm. Your team will be allocated to a session.

 

The session runs for 50 minutes and is made up of skills & drills and concludes with a short game.

 

Each week Hawks NBL1 Players will run the participants through skills & drills with your team's coaches assisting your players.  The teams then split off to a court to play a mini game.  

 

Teams are capped for this program as well as number of players per team.

 

Teams must provide a parent to be the team Coach, team Assistant Coach and team Manager. Coaching and Managing roles are well supported by the club.

For Players in Year 1:

RAIDERS U8 HOOPS  

Raiders Basketball Club runs our own Year 1 program to give our youngest players the opportunity to develop some basic ball skills in preparation for the Yr2 program. 

 

Raiders will run this program weekly and it will include fun games to develop ball handling skills. Details on what day of the week, location and session duration for the 2024 season will be updated shortly.  

 

The program will be run by a Raiders Coach and will require parent participation.  

 

The number of players will be capped for this program.
