U8 Development Programs

IMG_2686.jpg
To get our younger players ready for the PLH Junior Competition there are two U8 development programs available.

For players in Year 2:

HAWKS U8 MINIBALL SKILL SESSIONS

Perry Lakes Hawks run an U8 miniball skills program at Bendat Basketball Centre. There are two sessions, held on Tuesdays between 4.15pm and 6.15pm. Your team will be allocated to a session.

The session runs for 50 minutes and is made up of skills & drills and concludes with a short game.

Each week Hawks NBL1 Players will run the participants though skills & drills with your team coach assisting your players.  The teams then split off to a court to play a mini game.

Teams are capped for this program as well as number of players per team.

Teams must provide a parent to be the team Coach and a parent to be the team Manager. Both roles are well supported by the club.

For Players in Year 1:

RAIDERS U8 HOOPS

Raiders Basketball Club runs our own Year 1 program to give our youngest players the opportunity to develop some basic ball skills in preparation for the Yr2 program.

Raiders run this program weekly on a Wednesday afternoon at Newman College at the Lavalla campus hall.  The session will run for 50 mins and will include fun games to develop ball handling skills.

The number of players is capped for this program.

Raiders will look for parents within this age group to support the program.  The program needs a parent Coach and a parent Manager for each session.  The club will provide the Coach with Assistant coaches in the form of some of our older players.

The Coach will run the skills sessions with the help of the Assistant Coaches and the Manager will be responsible for keeping parents up to date with any information from the club.
