Dear Players, Parents and Carers, Welcome to 2021, planning has commenced and we are all looking forward to a great year. Hopefully one that proceeds unhindered. I am excited about the year ahead and will be your President again this year. This email will go out to everyone on our 2020 database. If you have left the club, please bear with us while we rebuild a database for 2021. Likewise, if you have friends and family who are interested in becoming part of Raiders, please forward this to them. We will keep you informed of changes as they occur and when you will need to know them. You can also check on our website and facebook sites that will have links to relevant information throughout the year. Registrations will now open, I will forward a separate email in the next few minutes with the link for registration. A separate registration for under 8 (year 1 and 2) and the Integrated basketball program will be available in February. We are now calling on registrations for players in miniball through to under 18's (this includes year 3 through to year 12). There are some changes to make note of.
Year 3 will play miniball (hoops at 8.5 feet).
Year 4 will play full basketball rules (10 foot hoop). This relates to boys and girls.
Under 12 girls play on Saturday afternoon, all other girls teams play on Friday evening/night.
All boys teams play on Saturday, with the younger groups tending to play earlier than the older boys.
Registrations: Open 15 Jan 2021 Close midnight 8 Feb 2021 Team nomination (for pre-nominated teams) closes 5pm 12th Feb. Grading: All boys and girls in under 14 and under 16 (year 7-10) are invited to attend grading to find an appropriate team. This year the committee has voted that it is NOT compulsory. If teams wish to submit a pre-nominated team, they should use the link below.
Grading will be at Lords Basketball centre between 11.30-4.30 on Sunday 14th and 21st Feb.
All other age groups (Miniball, U10, U12, U18) are invited to submit a pre-nominated team. Players without a team are also welcome to register and we will organise teams for them. Please be aware that Raiders reserves the right to alter any pre-nominated team as required for club purposes.
These must be received by 5pm Friday 12th Feb and must come with a coach and manager. Any pre-nominated teams arriving after 12th Feb will not be considered.

Last year we ran a coach and player education session that was very popular, unfortunately due to COVID, we had to run it later than we wanted. This year it will be over the April school holidays. Coaches We are always looking for new coaches to join us. If you, or your family members have experience and a passion for coaching basketball, please get in contact with Liam Vile and Paul Trettel. Similarly if you are a junior coach (U14 and above) and keen to coach a team, please also contact Liam and Paul. Training courts We are desperate to find new training courts, ideally inside. If you have any contacts that could help with this, please let myself, Ron Zec or Chris Giddens, our Court Co-ordinators know. They can then approach the venue and make a request
