This is a reminder to all players who played in 2023 for Raiders that if you would like to play for Raiders in the 2024 winter season, registration is open until Friday 26th January. Please see details below.
Welcome to 2024 Raiders basketball
Raiders members in 2023 have been sent an email on how to register for the 2024 season Winter season.
As was the case for the 2023 season, the club is limited in the number of teams we can field due to limited game-day court space.
If you have not registered within the allocated period which closes on Friday 26th January at 11pm, we will assume you do not wish to play this season and offer positions to those on our waitlist.
Registrations for the Raiders Integrated Basketball Program (IBP), and Under 8 will open in February.
In line with past seasons, games will be scheduled on Friday evenings for Girls Miniball U10, U14, U16 & U18. Girls U12 games will be scheduled on Saturdays at Bendat. Boy’s games will be played on Saturday.
WAITLIST FOR NEW MEMBERS:
If you have friends or family who would like to join Raiders this year, please encourage them to join The Hawks, centralised waitlist. Here, they will be able to nominate their preferred club. We anticipate not all players will be returning and will invite players from the waitlist to fill those vacancies. Demand from new members is extremely high and Raiders will try their best to accommodate.
We will draw new players from the waitlist ONLY. If a person registers as a player but is not on the waitlist they will likely incur administration charges.
TEAM NOMINATIONS AND GRADING
Boys
Raiders are accepting pre-nominated teams for Boys U10 (Year 3+4), U12 (Year 5+6) and U18 (Year 11+12).
Raiders will take responsibility for forming teams for Boys U14 (Year 7+8) and U16 (Year 9+10) age groups. While this will be based on knowledge of prior skills and feedback from coaches, we request all players in this age group to attend one pre-season grading session (typically a 1.5 hour session). Details of these sessions will be confirmed in the next few weeks, but at present are planned to be held in mid-February.
Girls
Raiders are accepting pre-nominated teams for all Girls age groups. There will be no grading for girls teams.

All prenominated teams should ideally have a minimum of 8 players and, at this stage, can only consist of players who played in 2023. Teams who nominate with less than 8 players may be asked to take on extra players up to a maximum of 8 players. These players are individuals who have not registered as part of a team or may be a new member from the waitlist looking to join the club.
Each nominated team MUST include a coach and team manager.
All players in a nominated team MUST register individually using the registration link which was sent by email.
All coaches and team managers of prenominated teams MUST also register in PlayHQ (be sure to register as Coach or Team Manager, not a player).

We are always looking for new coaches (including junior coaches). If you have family members or friends with experience and a passion for coaching basketball, please get in contact with Paul Trettel.
Raiders are looking forward to the 2024 season, which is scheduled to commence in the 1st week of Term 2.
