Training Update

Dear Players, Parents, Carers and Coaches,

I hope you are all looking after yourselves and the all Raiders Players are continually honing their individual basketball skills. I received this note through Perry Lakes Hawks, from Basketball WA this morning. In short it states that teams can commence very limited training in limited circumstances. The rules are listed below.  In practical terms, for our club, this is going to be very difficult. There is not to be any sharing of basketballs, ie, passing between players or scrimmages. Players have to remain 1.5m apart. All training has to be essentially skills based. Training also has to occur on outside courts. Unfortunately we have invested heavily in training courts that are inside, and have never had access to outside courts. As such, Raiders is not able to coordinate any access to these courts. But coaches are free to do so if they wish. Please be aware that Woodlands Primary School courts are leased by Woodlands Warriors Basketball Club. I will check with Newman, but expect we will not be allowed to use their courts at present due to school restrictions. I will liaise with coaches if this changes.  The main take home message is that it looks like things are improving in WA. I remain hopeful that we are going to see some basketball in the next month or so. When the time comes, please make sure you are all game fit!  COVID-19 - Basketball WA Guidelines: April 29, 2020 As at the 28th of April, basketball trainings are now permitted by Basketball WA under the following conditions.
