Update and Skills Sessions

Dear Players, Parents and Carers,

The time for games to start again is getting close, at long last, hopefully you have all been out and practicing all of the holidays.

I have a number of important announcements in this email, so at least scan through the headlines, if not read all of it.

Uniforms

Singlets

Hopefully everyone has their singlets, and knows where it is, before the game. Please remember that we want to keep them in the best condition possible. Do not wear to training, only for the games, and remove as soon as possible after the games. If there are any issues with singlets, please contact Caroline.

Socks

Raiders uniform requires white socks.

Shorts

If you have not got shorts, please contact Matt Green on, alternatively, find another player who wishes to hand theirs down, as these shorts are not worn for long periods of time.

Game availability

This is a timely reminder that the first game is this weekend, on the ANZAC Day long weekend. If you are not available, please let your coach and manager know as soon as possible. We also play on the June long weekend, so if you are not going to be available then, please also let your coach and manager know.

The next few weeks will still be grading games, so you may only have 2-3 of your fixtures at the moment.

Sessions are available on the website, you can also download the Game day app to have personalised games listed.

Skills sessions

A massive thank you to Damien Cooley who has organised for Steve Williams, from Hoops Elite, to come and conduct some small group sessions focussed on individual skill development for specific age groups.

Sessions will be in on Friday evenings, in blocks of 5 weeks, at a cost of $50/player for the five sessions. Time and location are below. It will be first in best dressed.

Unfortunately Friday was the only time that we could engineer vacancies and tie in with his commitments. I understand that this time will be difficult for some people to attend all of these sessions, but unfortunately have been limited in space and availability.

The first 5 week block will be on 30/4, 7/5, 15/5, 21/5, 28/5. If there is demand (I suspect there will be), then this will extend to further 5 week sessions.

There are 4 sessions per day, players can ONLY attend the appropriate age group time. There is no restriction, ie WABL players can join up also.

Photos

This year we intend to have a photographer come and take action photos of our games. These will be published on a separate website, with a link through to our website. We asked everyone if you granted photo permission on the registration forms, but our Francesca and Danielle will be reaching out to those who indicated they were not keen to understand the circumstances.

Rest assured the photos will be posted with a team number only, ie RA804, no individuals will be named, but it is likely coach and player will be on the same photo. Please consider if this will be possible to still have photos taken, or not when you are contacted.

Integrated Basketball

Just a reminder of an extra opportunity to play. Our integrated arm will be having games every second week at Churchlands high school. I have attached a link below that players can register on.

Games are on Saturdays between 12-1.30, the next session will be on Saturday 24th April.

Please register your interest here.

I am looking forward to seeing our teams out there this weekend, please take time to support other Raiders teams.

Go Raiders!!!
