Dear Players, Parents and Carers,
A massive thank you to all of you, for your support and assistance with Raiders Basketball Club in 2021. You have all played important roles in making Raiders such a strong and thriving club.
I wish to sincerely thank your committee, who have all worked tirelessly to ensure that the season went smoothly and all players had a great season. Without volunteers like we have, there would be no season and no Raiders Basketball Club.
I will likely send one more note this year, this will include the list of award winners and also notices of any changes that will be implemented in season 2022. I apologise about the remainder of the email which will be for U14 and above only, unfortunately I have not worked out how to limit my email addresses yet.
Thank you to those who nominated coaches and mangers for awards, these will be announced during the Youth Wind Up, but I will feedback all of the awards an my final email for the year, in the next week or two.
Uniforms and Equipment bags.
If you still have a uniform, the Youth Wind Up (Wednesday 15th November, 6-8.30pm) will be the LAST opportunity you have to return the uniform and receive your $30 back. We will also be able to receive the equipment bags, balls and access keys back. PLEASE make it easier on our hard working committee members and ensure they all come back on this day.
Youth Wind up (Under 14 and Above)
This will take place this Wednesday, 15th September. Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your session.
All sessions will be held in the gym at Newman, after presentations, you are invited to retire to the bar in the Newman Sports Centre. There will be soft drinks and chips provided for the players; and beer, wine and other options available for purchase from our bar. It is also an ideal time to get together with your team to do any presentations to coaches and managers.
5.55pm - Year 7 boys and girls and integrated basketball team.
6.30pm - Year 8 boys and girls teams with acknowledgement of our Junior Coaches.
7.20pm - Year 9 boys teams
7.45pm - Year 10 boys and mixed year 9/10 girls teams
8.10pm - Year 11/12 teams.
We will introduce each team and ask the coach and whole team to come up the front. The coach will then say a few brief words about the team, and then give out the trophies to the award winners, with a few brief words about the player receiving the award.
Please stay for the entire year group presentations before leaving, once they are over, feel free to retire to the bar, but please do not remain in the Gym as the next group will need to come through.
If you are yet to do a team wind up, an ideal time will be AFTER the awards, you will be able to find a quiet spot in the Newman Sports Centre after your allocated presentation.
