It was a fantastic showing from the Raiders with 14 teams heading into finals last weekend.
Unfortunately, all our girls teams came up short, but certainly not without a fight! Our senior Women's team (Raiders 627) led by Tildi Sergeant came within 3 points of taking the game into overtime facing a very well drilled Scarborough Sharks team. Ashlee Hardisty (#9) was certainly hot for the Raiders and had a sensational game with 20pts from the field, but it was not enough to overcome a solid Sharks unit. Well done Ashlee and all the girls for a tremendous effort!! Final score (Scarborough 425) 37 - (Raiders 627) 34.
Our other 2 girls team were U14s Raiders 617 going down to Claremont/Cottelsoe by 5 ( 28-33 ), with Rebecca Harris leading the charge for her team with 9 points, and Raiders 623 getting knocked out by just ONE POINT! Emily Burgess was leading scorer on 11 points, but a brilliant effort defensively from all the girls and tough to get so close and fall short, being defeated by City Beach (25-26).
